villa holiday
Andy Adams asked:

When you go on holiday you go with the intention of escaping from the stress and hassle of working life, you want the chance to sit by a swimming pool basking in the sun in peace. This ideal seems in contrast to the typical British holiday; being crammed into a high rise hotel staging early morning skirmishes against fellow holidaymakers for prime deck chair real estate!

The idea of a holiday is that you can relax, and that’s a bit tough when you’re stuck in the middle of the masses sprawled out in the midday sun. A growing trend is to forgo all the crowds and get your own villa. Villa holidays offer a much more relaxed atmosphere; normally they are large mansion-esque houses that locals rent out over the popular holiday periods usually accommodating up to 10 people.

Villas are good for large family groups or friends and have their own pool, so you aren’t going to bump into a rogue lilo when trying to take a relaxing dip in the hot sun. These villas are normally a comfortable distance from all the noise of the tourist resorts but well within walking distance of all the activities. Sometimes the owners of the villa may be around during your stay, they normally will be there to check on the pool and clean it if necessary.

The main swinging factor for families is that you can all be in one close area, think about it, if you are going away in a group of ten and book into one of the high-rise hotels in the tourist towns then chances are you are going to have to pay for two family rooms and a double to get everyone in. Add to this cost the fact that simple facts dictate that you are unlikely to be placed in the same part of the hotel this makes your holiday not go as smoothly as planned.

If you’re all in one villa then you’ll all be able to congregate in communal areas, eat together if you have a night in and larger family groups of five or six can all stay in rooms immediately next to each other rather than two corridors apart.

Villa holidays used to be more expensive options in the past but many companies have caught on to the trend and now offer cheap holidays for people looking for villa accommodation. With more and more people wanting to set themselves apart from the crowds at the usual hotel complexes Villa holidays have become remarkably popular.
