Are you planning an exotic and relaxing holiday in Tenerife this year? There is good news for those of you who are…

Forty new villas have been built to meet the needs and desires of those planning to visit the 2,053 square kilometer island in 2008. Check out some of the fabulous amenities and perks available at the new villas.

The villas are part of a five-star hotel in Tenerife, so the accommodations are top notch. They have their own points of entrance, so you do not have to go through the hotel to get to the villas. This lends to greater privacy for guests. Travellers, however, still get to enjoy all of the activities at the main hotel and can be escorted to bars, restaurants and attractions on buggies provided by the hotel and villas.

Each villa hosts its own Jacuzzi and private pool. Each also has a private terrace that is garnished with tropical plants. There are one or two room villas, depending on your occupancy needs. The decor in each villa is kept neutral to provide the ultimate relaxation experience possible. Holiday travelers have access to room service 24 hours a day. When not spending time in your villa, it is only a short distance to the sandy white beaches, which are major attractions in Tenerife.

Villas have become quite popular among holiday travelers to Tenerife and other places around the world - villas are more private than hotel rooms and still allow guests to enjoy all the same activities provided by five-star hotels, such as spas, galleries and restaurants. This makes a villa a prime choice for accommodations.

It is true that villas generally cost more than hotel room prices, but to some it is a small sacrifice when weighed with the option of having more space to lounge around in and a more secluded environment. Villas are especially popular among young couples and/or newlyweds.

Villas traditionally offer more amenities than a traditional hotel room. For instance, some will have small kitchens that are fully stocked, perfect for a quiet evening in your room. Villas also offer an option for additional televisions and/or DVD players. In essence, villas try hard to replicate a home away from home to make your holiday a memorable occasion.

When holidaying as a family, villas just make more sense because of the spacious room they offer. It’s hard to get everyone up and out the door in cramped quarters. And, if it happens to rain one day, who wants to be stuck in a small space with not much to do? Villas give your family options that hotel rooms simply cannot. Bring along some games in case of bad weather, but that does not happen very often in Tenerife, where the sun shines over 300 days a year!

The rise in direct booking websites has seen a boom in owners advertising their own properties, and as a result holiday makers are seeing a similar rise in villa holiday nightmares.

With the huge amount of concrete gone into building villas in Europe in the last 10 years competition is fierce for holiday rental income and owners have decided to take matters into their own hands to get bookings.

Very often they will be available for a cheaper weekly rental than similar properties with professional management companies or letting agencies.  The disadvantage to booking direct however is you have no guarantees of the standard on arrival or indeed how professional the owner maybe.

We are hearing more and more horror stories of people being let down by owners as their holidays draw closer.  Only last week I spoke with a lady who was due to travel to Quinta do Lago in the Algarve within the next 3 weeks – she had contacted the owner to confirm her booking and lo and behold – he’d only gone and sold it!!

So she had flights booked, deposits paid and no accommodation.  Fortunately the villa owner was honest enough to return her deposit but she was still left with no accommodation and the peak season about to begin and availability limited.

We have heard of people arriving at villas to find the gas and electricity cut off as the owner had not paid the bills to the management company.  Not to mention the villas still under construction

One of the more unusual stories I heard last year was the villa with pool in Spain – everything about the villa was fine, the pool was perfect – except for one minor detail – the lack of water in the swimming pool!

Booking direct is a useful way to save some of the cost but it does carry risk. A professional rentals agency will reduce that risk by ensuring that properties are professionally managed and cleaned, both on arrival and during your stay.

The another advantage of the lettings agency is if problems occur a professional lettings agency will be able to help put things right – for example if the person in the neighbouring villa decides on the Monday after your arrival that he wants to install a swimming pool a professional agency should be able to get you alternative accommodation.

A professional letting agency should also know the resort they are selling so will be able to assist you with any questions you might have while on holiday – such as which are the best restaurants, most popular golf etc.

Booking direct can be a money saver, but as more and more people are finding out, it can sometimes be a false economy.

When looking for a Caribbean holiday staying in a holiday villa, Antigua and Barbuda is the place to go. It is the biggest of the British Leeward Islands with a multifaceted coastline with safe harbours. It has a protective and almost unbroken wall of coral reef.

In 1784 the Admiral Horatio Nelson sailed to Antigua and established Great Britain’s most important Caribbean base. He would never have thought about 200 years later the same exceptional characteristics that fascinated the Royal Navy would convert Antigua and Barbuda in one of the Caribbean’s premier tourist destinations.

This holiday will offer you an array of pastimes like sailing, yachting, snorkelling and scuba diving. And if nothing else you can just plain and simple enjoy yourself. It has some of the most luxurious holiday villas of any holiday destination in the world.

Antigua and Barbuda, a dual island nation is well known for its beaches and is a much loved place for yachtsmen. There is no dearth of tourist facilities. There are no language issues as English is the main language. You can make use of the banking facilities and will find ATMs right through the island. It can be said to be one of the best places in the world to have a holiday and stay in a holiday villa.

It has outstanding beaches, great holiday homes and friendly locals. The vivacious culture, excellent restaurants and superb climate make this an ideal holiday destination with families staying in holiday villas. You can choose the tours and excursions as per your choice. The coral reefs draw people who snorkel and scuba divers from all over the world. And the captivating small island of Barbuda, which was once a hunter’s paradise, is now homes the region’s most noteworthy bird sanctuaries.

There is no shortage of flights into the island daily, from all corners of the world. It is the centre if you want to travel onwards to other small and large islands inside the Caribbean.

The temperature here is mostly between mid seventies in the winter to the mid eighties in the summer. The annual rainfall here is pretty low, making Antigua and Barbuda the sunniest of the Eastern Caribbean Islands. Humidity here is also very low all the year round.

There are other thrilling activities which you can enjoy like boating, cricket, tennis, windsurfing, hiking and bird watching, fishing and hunting, horseback riding and also golfing. This is a great place and you can enjoy the relaxed pace of a Caribbean holiday at Antigua and Barbuda. With all these great activities it is not surprising that they are one of the Caribbean’s leading destinations for tourists renting holiday villas.

No holiday to the Antigua and Barbuda can be completed without spending a superb day just relaxing , sipping a rum punch, and the Caribbean sun adding to your tan and the warm winds blowing to keep you cool. You can take pleasure in motorboat tours, eco tours, sailing tours, land tours and even charter a yacht for a day of sport fishing.

You can be sure that every different excursion will help you discover a new Antigua. It is also a good idea to spend a day snorkelling off a beach or even sunbathing. It is no wonder that many tourists come back to Antigua year after year and stay in superb holiday villas that can be rented directly from their holiday home owners.

If you are taking your family to Orlando for a vacation then be prepared for a busy time at the parks, although you can always take a break and visit one of the many other interesting attractions. Orlando has many churches, museums, parks, markets and unusual tourist attractions to keep the most determined visitor happy. Everything a visitor could possibly want is here and the reason why people return year after year.

If you enjoy shopping then you will love Orlando, it has plenty of malls and stores like Outdoor World which is so large it contains a 17,000 gallon aquarium and you could spend all day there. Besides the major theme parks, a vacation in Orlando can offer so many attractions to spark the imagination that it’s hard to know where to begin.

Central Florida Zoological Park is one of the major reasons to visit as the zoo is home to more than 400 animals that started out as just a collection in the Sanford Fire Department. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.

For anyone that appreciates the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany then a large collection of his works is exhibited the Museum of American Art, where it has been housed since the early 1940’s. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893.

Whilst Orlando may appear on the surface to be a town designed for the entertainment of children that could not be farther from the truth with adults equally well looked after. Orlando vacations offer evening entertainment that’s no less interesting with family venues such Pirates Adventure, Medieval Feast to more adult themes such as Disney’s Downtown Pleasure Island open until the early hours.

If you are more technology and science minded then a trip to the Orlando Science Center will be a must as is a huge complex incorporating 10 halls with exhibitions everything from the Florida Everglades to the plains of Mars. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s, plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car.

If you have seen the Titanic-ship of Dreams film then you will enjoy the exhibition along International Drive that tells the story using large sets and depictions from the ship as a background. Away from all the hustle is the wonderful Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown; it has beautiful sidewalks in over forty acres where it is possible to spend a few peaceful hours.

However, there aren’t that many visitors who visit Orlando without a trip to one of the four main Disney theme parks or the equally impressive Universal studios, where a person’s age really doesn’t matter. Orlando vacations have everything so you won’t be short of things to do; in fact you may need a week off to recover in a resort that never shuts and has good weather all year round.
