When it comes to renting holiday villas in Sardinia there are a number of different locations to choose from. But which area you choose will depend on just how much you want to spend on your holiday accommodation and when you want to rent the villa from.
During the summer months and especially August then renting a villa in Sardinia should be avoided if at all possible. This is simply because this is a time when many Italians who are based in Rome or Como will take their annual summer vacation and select to visit the island.
Yet even though August is the busiest time for villa rentals to occur the rest of summer (June to September), you may find it somewhat difficult to get exactly what you want. So if at all possible, try to avoid taking your vacation at this time. But if this is the only time available to you then do not restrict yourself to the main tourist areas but maybe looking for villas that are a little out of the way.
There are regions of the island such as Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo where the cost of renting a holiday villa is extremely high. This is simply because these are areas where you will find the rich and famous like to stay
Yet the best place to think about renting a holiday villa on the island is the capital Cagliari. Not only do you have a large choice of different villas to choose from, but it provides you with the ideal location to explore the rest of the island from. You never know you may spot another villa and which you can then rent for your next summer holiday on the island.
However, if your budget is somewhat limited but you still what a little nightlife as well then why not consider renting a villa in Port of Alghero. Although not as busy as the places previously mentioned it is one of the most important tourist places on Sardinia’s northwest coast today.
Although the nightlife here is not the same, as you would find in say Costa Smeralda it does has some of the most beautiful beaches around. Plus although outside of the main village the area is very modern you can still get a feel for what the area use to be like by wandering through the streets of the old part of the village, where many locals still live.
The best place to start searching for holiday villas in Sardinia is by going online. There are many companies and private villa owners who advertise properties to rent. Yet, before you do book your villa, it is best that you compare each one you see rather than just booking one because you like the look of it.
